Scouts work on a wide variety of special activities and learn a number of different skills during club time. Special guests are invited to teach and the scouts are enriched by caring, involved adults. These kids expand their horizons and stretch their abilities by fulfilling specific requirements to earn badges.
Scouting is a year-long commitment. Membership dues of US$ 12 are paid at the beginning of the school year. Scouts are expected to purchase basic items of the uniform and the respective handbook as outlined below.
After completion of badge/merit requirements, scouts are eligible to receive the corresponding award. This may be in the form of an iron-on badge or patch. Costs for these items (and a percentage of the shipping) will be charged to parents’ school accounts and parents will be notified of the charges in writing. All charges go through the school’s finance office as den/troop leaders do not handle cash.
