Camp Tiger
In the summer of 2019, me and my brother went to Camp Tiger, a Boy Scout summer camp for six days. The campsite is at Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, South Korea. Camp Humphreys is an American Military Base that holds a Boy Scout summer camp every year. In the campsite, there is a flat area for Scouts to set up their tents and other things like tables. There were also about ten big tents that were air-conditioned and used for merit badges and the staff. On the first day that I was there, I set up my tent and got to know a few people. Later, there was a campfire and the camp director explained to us what Camp Tiger is all about and other information. The next four days are all about working on merit badges. There were lots of merit badges available and I personally enjoyed doing them. Every night, there was an optional activity that everyone could attend. There were things like tag, capture the flag, and gaga ball. Winning an activity increased a troop’s points, and the troop with the highest points receive the best troop award. What I found most interesting in the camp was the trading post. We could buy snacks, drinks, and scouting tools with money for a reasonable price. The reason I recommend scouts to go to this camp is because they can get numerous merit badges in only a couple of days. The scouts can also enjoy working and bonding with scouts from other troops. - Jason Kim
